There will always be a rush to select the best Diwali rangoli design for drawing before our house during Diwali. As some people perform puja of mother goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesh during Diwali. Since earlier days, it is their belief that during this time, Laxmi brings prosperity in their wealth. And Lord Ganesh is worshiped to remove obstacles from one’s life. Also, Indians have a belief that both Laxmi and Ganesh love beauty, arts, and decorations. So in order to attract them towards their homes, there is a culture to draw rangoli before the house’s entrance. Generally, the perception of drawing rangoli is to welcome positivity and goodness. Hence, we put rangoli before our houses for welcoming important guests. It falls in our Indian culture.

Diwali is the festival of lights which represents the empowerment of goodness over darkness. As it is a representation of happiness spread in Ayodhya on the return of Lord Sri Ram after the exile of 14 years.

Different ways of celebrating Diwali:

While a part of India celebrates the return of Lord Sri Ram during Diwali, another part performs puja of Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesh to bring prosperity. Also, the third part of India celebrates Kali Puja during Diwali. The night before Diwali is termed as “Bhoot Chaturdasi”. Otherwise known as  “Halloween night”.

In south India, Diwali is celebrated for five days. During this time, they visit their village house, their friends, relatives. Also in some parts of India with Diwali by gifting sweets and dry fruits to their dear ones. Because this symbolizes the wishing of good health and prosperity.

Since earlier times, there is a belief that putting Rangoli in the entrance of the house prevents negativity to enter the house. Also, there is a belief that the brighter the color of rangoli, the more positive energy will enter the household. During Diwali, the rangoli is decorated with lamps along with colors. It looks magnificent and enigmatic.

Generally, Indians have the culture to put rangoli in every festival. The way of decorating the rangoli will vary depending upon the festival. As an example, a rangoli during Holi contains only colors. While a rangoli drawn during Onam will be mostly made of fresh flowers. Similarly, in Diwali, the rangoli will be adorned with lamps.
