And the release was a huge hit. Even now the movie gets an appreciation for its beautiful representation of every child’s perspective.

About the movie:

It is a story revolving around a child having dyslexia. The movie describes the trauma experienced by those kids in their lives. Due to their young age, parents feel that those problems are nothing but the child’s imagination to skip learning. But the actual problem of them can be understood by very few parents. Some also misjudge dyslexia patients like a mad person, which is completely wrong.

In this movie, it is around the child “Ishaan Avasti” whose dyslexia problem was misinterpreted as carelessness and arrogance of him by his parents. So they decided to send him to a hostel at a very tender age. At that age, a child imagines hostel life as a punishment or jail life, if they were sent to hostel due to scoring fewer marks. The same thing happened to Ishaan. As he started believing that his parents punished him for scoring fewer marks. So he remained aloof in the hostel and in his new school. Due to his aloofness and past record, he started going into depression which is not noticed by any faculties in school. But things started to become good for Ishaan with the entry of new drawing teacher “Ram Shankar Nikumbh”. As Nikumbh runs an NGO of children with special talents, he easily understood the problem of Ishaan.

Taare Zameen Par Review:

It is a story of one such kid having dyslexia named “Ishaan Avasti” whose parents think his inability to get good marks is because of his carelessness and dislike towards learning. As their elder child is topper in all fields, they expect their younger child Ishaan to follow the trend of topping. Being a middle-class family, when the parents hear complaints regarding Ishaan’s inattentiveness in class and inability to score good marks, they feel humiliated. So that humiliation converts into anger and they blame Ishaan for naughtiness is not studying properly. Also, the fear of getting their younger son tagged as mad, they decide to send Ishaan to boarding school at a tender age.

This decision affected Ishaan’s personality very much. He started to remain aloof from everyone. Even the left his favorite hobby of painting. Then comes the entry of his knight in shining armor in the form of drawing teacher “Ram Shankar Nikumbh”. So he found similarities in Ishaan’s case with his childhood problem. As he runs an NGO with especially talented kids, he strives hard to put some brain in Ishaan’s parents. Also with his hard work, Ishaan improved in his studies and started getting back to jovial nature.

The climax again proved the beautiful and strong student-teacher bonding. The gratefulness, respect, and love of Ishaan towards his teacher Nikumbh is beautifully portrayed and shown in the last scene. Thus it proves that a supporting teacher is a reason behind every successful student. The role of the teacher in every person’s life is strongly shown in this movie. As Ishaan was able to prove himself one and only because of the never-ending tries of Nikumbh.
